What is Manifestation? How to Harness Your Inner Power for Happiness and Healing

Everyone has something they want to change about their lives.
Do you want more respect, more money, self acceptance, a loving relationship with a significant other, a happier family dynamic?
These things are all possible for you to create for yourself. And whatever your understanding or beliefs currently are about the power of the mind and positive thinking, like it or not, we’re all manifesting all the time.
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.” -Buddha It is well documented that many celebrities use manifestation techniques and even used them to become famous.
This list includes Oprah, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conor McGregor, Katie Holmes, Jim Carrey, Jay Z, Lady Gaga, Jim Carrey, Denzel Washington, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and more.
So what is manifestation exactly and how can we harness it for a happier life? We’ll get to all that in just a minute. But first, I want to share what piqued my interests in this, in the first place.
I’ve had several experiences in my life where I knew something was going to happen just before it did.
This isn’t uncommon, actually. Many people experience unexplainable events and unspoken knowledge. But they usually don’t think much of it. And I was the same way until recently. I recognized this must be my intuition.
Actually, that’s how this blog came to be. This burning idea came to me in one day. So I came up with the blog name, bought a subscription to wordpress, secured my domain, wrote two articles, and launched on social media that same day.
I had no idea how to control these thoughts (or feelings, really), where they came from, or what they meant. All I knew was that it was really cool and intriguing. But that’s where it ended.
So recently, I got connected to a manifestation coach on Instagram and we started talking. Actually, I daresay, I followed my intuition once again, and decided in a split second that I had to interview her for the blog. So here we are today.
To answer our questions about manifesting, I need to introduce Buko, of @ManifestWithBuko.

Buko, manifestation coach
Almost 15 years ago, she became interested in classic psychology. Then she discovered the Law of Belief (AKA Law of Assumption) after reading the book, “The Power of the Subconscious Mind” by Dr Joseph Murphy.
According to Buko, she believed if she could work on her subconscious beliefs, she could manifest herself a new life, with less worries and stress. That’s when she began practicing techniques to manifest specific things.
Or in other words, things she wanted and focused on, began appearing and happening in her life. She didn’t really understand what was going on back then. She only knew it worked.
So what is manifestation exactly?
Buko explains, “Manifesting means that your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings are creating your reality. You are co-creating your reality, because your subconscious mind manifests your beliefs and thoughts into things, people, and situations.”
She continues, “Many people think manifesting means you have to visualize and do a technique to get things. That’s considered conscious creation or manifesting deliberately, and it does work.
But we are also manifesting 24/7, from the second we are born until the day we die.” You don’t even have to believe in manifestation techniques for this concept to ring true. It honestly makes sense.
Because what you think about becomes what you believe. What you believe becomes how you act. How you act becomes who you are. Even Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a well-known and effective treatment for many mental health and mood disorders including depression, anxiety, and insomnia follows the same foundation.
It focuses on that connection between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions You start by identifying negative beliefs and work to change them, thus changing your reality.
As my psychologist explained to me as I underwent CBT for insomnia, if you believe you aren’t going to sleep tonight, it is sure to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The same holds true for every aspect of your life. We all know someone who is always positive, happy, and grateful. Don’t good things always seem to happen to them?
Now do you know someone who seems to be their own worst enemy? They are always complaining and finding something to be upset about. Doesn’t their life seem a lot harder?
The honest truth many people aren’t willing to accept is that the quality of your life has little to do with the circumstances you’re born into or your experiences along with way. It’s all about your mindset, letting go of any victim mentalities, and choosing to follow your path to live the life you want.

Leveraging the power of the mind is not a new concept in any way.
Looking back 2,500 years ago, Buddha taught that we create our own suffering, happiness, luck, peace, pain, and health. And the teachers of the Law of Assumption/Law of Belief have been speaking on this topic for hundreds years as well.
Now let’s quickly clarify one thing. Buko teaches the Law of Assumption and the Power of Now, not the highly commercialized Law of Attraction.
She outlined the concept of the Law of Assumption at a high level:
- Everyone and everything in your life is you pushed out, a reflection of your inner self
- You can change your life for the better by changing your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings
- Anything is possible. There are only limits if you assume there are limits
- To deliberately manifest, you must imagine the end result of what you want. Assume that you already have it while feeling the joy or peace it would bring you, as though you already have it
- The hows and whens are unknown and cannot be controlled in detail
- A “bridge of incidents” unfolds after you start to manifest something deliberately, which leads you to your end goal
- When you surrender to the universe, it all unfolds perfectly. You shouldn’t try to control it (ahem fellow control freaks!), because you don’t know what your subconscious/the universe knows that you aren’t yet aware of consciously
- You should never try to force a manifestation to unfold, that is living in a state of lack which means you are blocking it. When you are focused on the lack of something you manifest more and more lack
- After you do your manifestation techniques, you also need to let go of your want and imagine it is already done. You can’t dwell on whether it is working or not
- There’s no saying how long it will take, it might be 2 hours or 2 years
- Staying in the now helps your manifestations be fulfilled, this means not stressing about the past or worrying about the future, yoga and meditation can help with being more present
- Signs and synchronicities–or what seem like coincidences–show up when we have saturated our subconscious mind with our end scene and that message has been received

So what can you manifest in your life?
Simply put: anything you think, believe, and feel. Buko offers 1:1 coaching sessions and has had clients come to her for every reason you can think of from potty training their toddler, to winning their ex back, getting a raise at work, and even overcoming fertility issues. And, yes. It works.
She shared with me a string of occurrences that were too frequent and too powerful to be explained away as coincidence. Students of the Law of Assumption report manifesting significant others into their lives, material things, success, wealth, fame, positive changes in relationships.
There’s definitely a rabbit hole of success stories out there on the topic if you look.
Here are two quick examples she gave me. Remember the mom I mentioned who was struggling with potty training her four-year-old? Two weeks after working with Buko, her son quit wetting the bed.
Another time, Buko wanted to know if she was on the right track in one of her specific manifestations. So she asked her subconscious/the universe if she should read Eckhart Tolle’s book on the topic, in her native German language, to have a better understanding of the lessons.
Two days later, she was called by her intuition to take a walk outside on a cold, rainy day and ended up finding the German translation of the book randomly tucked into some bushes. (Cue the Twilight Zone theme song).
So if you’re anything like me, right now you’re thinking: Ok, cool. Sounds amazing. But how exactly do I do it?
The techniques are pretty detailed and specific. And I don’t have room to get into all them here. So the first step you should take today is to run, not walk, and go follow Buko on Instagram.
And subscribe to her YouTube channel, which will be starting soon. On both channels, she shares a ton of free advice on techniques she uses, including affirmations, afformations, visualizations, and more.
You could also start with books or videos about Neville Goddard, Dr Joseph Murphy, or Florence Scovel Shinn.

Buko successfully manifested to not be afraid of heights anymore!
The most effective way by far to get results is to book a 1:1 coaching session with Buko. I know this to be true, because I did it! And quite honestly I believe it changed my life.
In your session, she helps reveal the limiting beliefs you have in your life. Things you may not even be aware were holding you back. She quickly uncovered relationship dynamics and events from my past that I was subconsciously stuck on and not able to move forward from.
And let me tell you, it was one of the most healing experiences I’ve ever had. Once those negative barriers are identified, she creates a plan tailored to help you reprogram those specific beliefs, and shift your thinking toward a more positive, accepting, powerful, and loving version of yourself.
So how are things going for me since my session? I’ve been doing my daily affirmations and dabbling with visualization for a couple weeks now and I’ve already noticed a positive shift in my thinking and beliefs.
Beyond that, I’ve seen other tangible results including getting a raise at work! I also have a bigger vision for my life in the works, which has to do with educating and empowering millions of women around the world with this platform.
And I’ll definitely report back once all that comes true. Or better yet, you’ll still be reading my articles and be able to watch it all unfold.
Here’s a simple way you can become more intentional about your manifestations starting today.
Maybe you aren’t ready to jump completely on board with visualizations or affirmations quite yet, and that’s totally fine. But I offer you this challenge: there’s a concept called a “mental diet” that I invite you to try out.
It works like this: simply focus on positive thoughts and eliminate any negative thoughts that are contrary to your goals. And see how you begin to feel.

For example, I stopped watching the news and watching/reading true crime stories years ago because it was all too much for me. I was having nightmares and feeling very anxious about all the negativity I was allowing into my brain.
I’ve also gone through a phase when I was following what I would call the wrong people (for me) on social media. People I compared myself to and felt less than about my own life.
And while making those comparisons was my own problem, it’s also up to me to decide who or what I allow to influence me.
So I made the choice to only follow accounts that make me feel good, entertain me in a positive way, or provide useful information.
Since I’ve made those three simple changes, I’ve noticed I’m a happier, less stressed person. There’s a rational side to all this, too.
My 10 years in advertising might be showing here, but once you realize how the mass media functions and makes money, for example, you understand nothing they do is for our benefit.
Simply put: they’re selling ad space. They compete with the other networks for views and get paid big bucks off clicks, impressions, and eyes on their stories. That means they need to find ways to hook us in. How do they do that? Shock, awe, terror, clickbait, and fear–of course.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m not asking you to live under a rock. I’m telling you to discriminate about the information you allow into your brain, and thus your life and world view.
So ask yourself if the person, media outlet, or social channel you spend so much time with/on is serving you. Is it contributing to your life? Is it positive, informative, uplifting, educational? Because if it isn’t benefiting you, it’s benefiting someone else.
Remember Buddha? “What we think we become.”
I don’t know about you, but if you told me years ago that I’d be writing an article about manifestation, I would have told you that it sounds totally crazy.
But now I’ve seen the evidence with my own eyes and heard my inner voice telling me otherwise. And though I didn’t grow up as a religious person, I’ve always known there was more to the universe than we can see or understand.
So I for one, am looking at all of this with an open mind and heart. Plus, anything that’s good enough for Beyonce, is good enough for me.
Thank you to Buko for sharing this life-changing information. I hope it helps you realize how infinitely powerful you are.
