For the pregnant mama who hates a hassle, I created this unbiased review of the top 3 pre packed hospital bag options.
Because there are SO many choices to make about what to bring or not to the hospital for your baby’s birth.
On one hand, you don’t want to bring the kitchen sink, on the other hand, there’s nothing like a little comfort from home when you’re going through this life-changing experience.

I know I will definitely do things differently the next time around. Like nab alllll the cute, comfy delivery day essentials from this award-winning brand.
But first let’s talk other important details you’ll want to know to be fully prepared for your birth experience.
So when should I start packing my hospital bag?
Just in case your bae comes early, you’ll want that bag ready to boogie by 36 weeks. Or 37 at the latest. Scrambling is no fun, I promise.
The last thing on your mind during contractions will be “do I have my phone charger?”
I also recommend hand writing or typing up and printing a short list of day-of additions to your bag.
Whether you buy a pre packed hospital bag or put one together yourself, there are a few MANDATORIES you’ll want to include.
What should be in my bag packed for hospital?
My day-of packing list included:
- Medication
- Personal toiletries like toothbrush, hairbrush, skin care products
- Phone chargers
- Your own pillows
- Wallets with ID, insurance card, credit cards (in case you want to order delivery after baby is born)
- Makeup (if that’s your thing)
For my full list, keep reading for my free printable Ultimate Hospital Bag Checklist!

Other things you can pack ahead of time:
- Your birth plan
- Car seat (you MUST have one and be installed correctly to leave the hospital!)
- Optional but helpful: Eye mask (even if you don’t usually wear one, because the hospital room never gets fully dark)
- Go home outfit for baby. (OMG how cuuuuute is this personalized newborn coming home outfit?)
- Your fave snacks and coconut water
To make sure you don’t forget a thing, I put together a printable PDF version of my Ultimate Hospital Bag Checklist.
It lists everything you need for yourself, your partner, and baby.
You can print it here!
