Looking for some powerful, free printable birth affirmations? I’ve got you covered mama.
Keep reading to download them.
But first, what exactly are birth affirmations? I didn’t find out about this concept until long after I had my son, but I’m definitely a fan of affirmations in general.
So I did some research to find out more.
What exactly are birth affirmations?
It turns out, whether you’re planning on a natural delivery or an epidural, positive birth affirmations can be a powerful tool in your pain management toolbox.
According to this hypnobirthing website, “When we affirm something positive, it creates belief within the subconscious mind, thus making it more achievable as a goal.
For every thought or belief, there is a subsequent and immediate chemical reaction in the body. Calm & confident thoughts = calm & confident birthing!”
I also read it’s easier to start everything off in a calm confident mindset than to try to get into one later after experiencing the full pain of childbirth.
So it’s great to have these on hand when you need them and feel prepared to use them immediately when those contractions begin.
And even better than that, take them out in the weeks leading up to your due date and sit quietly repeating your favorites once or twice a day to get your mindset in the right space.
I’ve known some mamas to even hang these up in their bedroom or bathroom before baby arrived so they can see them every day and integrate them into their daily life even more.

The whole idea is that you can download and print this page and fold it up or actually cut out these wallet-sized cards to bring along with you wherever you end up delivering baby.
And if you’re a real DIY fan, you can even laminate them for safekeeping or as post-birth keepsakes for your scrapbook.
Want a pro tip? Give your husband/significant other/birth partner the responsibility of holding onto these in their wallet. The last thing you’re going to want to do when you feel those labor pains is scramble to find these.
And as I always say, take what you need here and leave the rest. Not all these messages will resonate with you now or in the moment and that is ok.
You really just need one mantra or a couple favorites to rotate between. The key is staying calm and focused on the message, your power, and strength!

Do birth affirmations really work?
The short answer is YES, affirmations of any kind can be extremely powerful.
This fancy scientific study says so and affirmations are also a big part of manifesting culture if you are into that.
No idea what I’m talking about?
Here’s a must read article I did on everything you’d ever want to know on the topic with a manifestation coach who totally changed my life.
Long story short, manifestation is about leveraging the power of the mind.
Here’s a hint: we’re manifesting all the time whether we like it or not. It’s how our feelings, thoughts, and beliefs create our reality.
Sound crazy? It’s not!
Plenty of well known celebrities and wildly successful people have come out to say they manifest deliberately.
And I’m talking big time peeps like Oprah and Beyonce, here.
But that’s enough of a tangent on that.
Are you having a baby?
The biggest mistake I see moms make (myself 2 years ago included) is they get so excited to design a nursery and buy everything baby needs, and forget to think about what they’ll need for their own recovery afterward.
